Last April 20th, the FCJ Christian Life Centre hosted a successful spring clean-up event. A group comprising staff, FCJ sisters, and volunteers of all ages gathered under the warm sun to kick off the spring cleaning of the Centre, preparing the grounds for the May flower planting.
Through teamwork, dedication, and the leadership of Rita Khanchat and Sr. Ita Connery, fcJ, the clean-up efforts made the front flower beds and the meditation garden a much more inviting place to visit and stay.
Additionally, on April 26th, the teachers and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes chose the FCJ Centre for their service project during their Professional Development Day. Headed by their Principal Ryan Miller and Vice Principal, Kyle Hagan, they assisted us with weeding, pruning, cleaning, and preparing the flower beds in our Grotto area.
The event not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also promoted a sense of community among the participants. The spring clean-up event is just the beginning of many spring activities ongoing at the FCJ Centre, and we would love to have more hands as we seek volunteers for our garden during summertime and fall clean-ups.
