The FCJ Christian Life Centre recently launched a significant step in its effort to better understand and address the needs of the community it serves. This foundational review process began December 9, 2024 with Community Needs Assessment, Environmental Scanning, and Asset Mapping to guide the Centre’s future direction.
To ensure a well-rounded perspective, 27 participants—both internal and external to the Centre—contributed to the review. Among them were individuals from various non-profit sectors, faith-based communities, and charitable organizations. Some participants were staff and board members, while others had no prior connection to the FCJ Centre. This diverse group brought valuable perspectives to the table, ensuring a rich exchange of ideas and insights.
The review session was facilitated by an expert from the Community Development Unit of the Government of Alberta. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions to identify pressing community needs, analyze external factors impacting the Centre, and map the FCJ Centre’s strengths and resources.
This initiative marks the beginning of a 1 to 2-year review process for the FCJ Centre, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive strategic plan. In the first quarter of next year, the FCJ Centre will move into the next phase, focusing on community engagement through a series of focus group discussions, community participation, and collaborative activities.
We want to hear from you! If you would like to be part of this community engagement, please let us know via email at info@fcjcentre.ca
This ongoing effort reflects the FCJ Centre’s commitment to its mission and to enhancing its programs and services to remain relevant and impactful for the community it serves. #
